What's included?

  • Legal framework – basic document based on CE legislation (Word)
  • Risk analysis – pre-filled template with requirements from Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC, Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU and EMC Directive 2014/30/EU (Excel)
  • Instructions for use – guidance document: what must be included in a user manual?
  • Technical documentation – conformity assessment flowchart and checklist of required technical file contents
  • CE label – guidance on CE marking requirements

Additional information

Is specific prior knowledge required?

No specific prior education or knowledge is required to follow this course. The courses are structured in such a way that they are easy to follow. The exam also aligns with the course material, and we do not use double negatives in the questions.

How long is the certificate valid?

In Section 7.4a, paragraph 5 of the Working Conditions Decree, it is stipulated that: "inspections shall be carried out by a skilled natural person, legal entity or institution". And in paragraph 6 we read that: "Written evidence of the inspections carried out shall be present at the workplace and shall be shown to the supervisor upon request".

Legally, nothing is stipulated about the validity of a course certificate, so we do not include it. However, we can add it if we create customized courses and the client wants an expiration date on it. This is often something like 3 years.

However, NEN 3140 includes a table in an appendix on how the repetition period for instructions can be determined. But this concerns designations such as VOP, VP, and IV-WV.

But a standard is not legally mandatory, and the employer must determine the frequency of instruction repetition themselves, which can vary from one company to another.

On the other hand, the Working Conditions Decree speaks of an 'expert,' which can also be a 'self-taught' person; if you meticulously keep up with legislation and standards and ensure you 'stay up-to-date,' you can also be considered an expert. It's a bit like a school diploma, which also doesn't have an expiration date, at least not mine, but you can imagine that a diploma from 1980 is somewhat old, and some further training is probably in order.

The schedule below may offer a solution, but it is not based on legislation.

Is there a practical component too?

The online courses naturally do not include a practical component. This component is, however, included when we deliver courses on location.

The online courses are designed to be very visual, with many photos and videos to make everything as clear as possible. The great thing is that we also use these materials in our in-company training sessions. For example, explaining how to perform certain measurements. What could be more convenient than showing a short video demonstrating how to do this? That works better than having ten people stand around an installation trying to explain the measurement.

Can this also be in-company?

Yes, we also offer all courses in-company, tailored to your business's specific situation. Clients often request combinations of courses, which we are happy to provide. Please contact us for more information.

Am I eligible for a grant?

There are various training funds and government schemes available for obtaining subsidies, which often cover a portion of the course fees. If your company is affiliated with a training fund such as OOM, Wij Techniek (OTIB), A+O, or SOOB, for example, you can submit the invoice there. Often, the names of the participant(s) in the course(s) must be on the invoice, and if that is a requirement, please contact us and we will arrange it.

There is also the government's SLIM scheme for SMEs, see www.ondernemersplein.overheid.nl

Will I also receive a VAT invoice?

Yes, in the 2nd email you'll find a link with a name like: INV-0093. If you click on it, you'll be taken to your invoice.
